2010 Volunteers of the Year:
Sue Brucker and Pam McCombs
A few words to describe our 2010 Volunteers of the Year:
The most loyal Tuesday volunteers EVER! They are capable of getting hugs out of even the pickiest of children. They bring delicious treats (one rocks the store bought, the other rocks the homemade). Despite pink eye, vomiting, teething, and a language barrier they brave Crossroads and 3-35 children (usually under the age of 4) for an hour every week!
These two have been faithful volunteers for the Youth Program for almost three years. Without the dependable support they provide the Youth Program, Tuesday groups would not be nearly as beneficial to the kids. Every Tuesday afternoon, they show up with their smiling faces (and often a treat) for the kids! They brave runny noses, extreme separation anxiety and humongous groups of toddlers! Because of their commitment and dedication, they haven't been scared off yet! Despite the language barrier, they provide advocacy and support for the youngest victims of domestic violence. Whether it is a homemade cookie, a lap or understanding that sometimes, you just gotta be held, they both provide exactly just what the kiddos need!
